A crown covers a tooth that has cracked, worn down, or been through a root canal. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by anchoring to the neighbours.
Crowns come in several materials — full ceramic, zirconia, and metal-ceramic. Front teeth usually call for ceramic or zirconia because the light passes through them like real enamel. Back teeth are chosen more for strength.
A bridge is the quicker alternative to an implant when the neighbouring teeth already need crowns anyway. If those teeth are healthy and untouched, we will usually suggest considering an implant first.

Crown or bridge or implant?
A crown saves an existing tooth. A bridge and an implant both replace a missing one — the bridge is faster but involves the neighbouring teeth, the implant leaves them untouched.
How long does a crown take?
Usually two visits about a week apart, with a temporary crown in between.
